Position Overview

CSL Vifor is a leading pharmaceutical company focused on Nephrology, Iron Deficiency, and Cardio-Renal therapies, experiencing significant growth. We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to join our team in Romania. Reporting to the MSL Manager, this role will cover one-third of the country. The MSL is crucial for representing Medical Affairs externally, building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Health Care Professionals (HCPs), and key accounts. The MSL will execute local medical plans by providing medical expertise in CSL Vifor's disease states and products, engaging with the medical community for disease state education, medical information, and research support. The current prioritized therapeutic areas are cardiology, nephrology, and Patient Blood Management (PBM).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain medical and scientific expertise on pathologies and Vifor Pharma products.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and Professional Organizations.
  • Establish interactions and engagements with KOLs, providing medical support, training, and other appropriate activities.
  • Facilitate scientific engagement and medical information exchange with KOLs.
  • Provide medical education regarding pathologies and clinical data, and respond to requests for medical information.
  • Communicate scientific information obtained from interactions with the medical community to the medical team and other internal partners.
  • Provide medical support for patient access programs to Vifor Pharma products, and for access through local review committees, adhering to global and local policies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and completion of medical activities, including advisory boards, symposia at congresses, hospital-level meetings, and speaker programs.
  • Serve as a medical resource for internal medical training, including the sales team.
  • Support company-sponsored clinical research and processes related to independent investigator-initiated studies (IIS).
  • Participate in relevant scientific meetings and conferences, supporting the development of key clinical data summaries, presentations, or symposia relevant to Vifor Pharma.
  • Ensure all activities and interactions comply with applicable laws, regulations, local and global guidelines, and company policies.
  • Develop personal and professional skills for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Representatives (Sales Team) and the Marketing Department.
  • Stay updated on scientific and clinical progress in specified therapeutic areas through literature, electronic media, and participation in national and international meetings and conferences.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in a Medical or Life Science Field (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology/Biochemistry).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical practice, research, or the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with KOLs, HCPs, or the medical community.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Romanian.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in public scientific presentations.
  • Ability for overnight travel, up to 50%.

Preferred Requirements

  • Doctorate (MD, PhD, PharmD, etc.) or Master's degree (equivalent) in a medical field (Pharmacy, Nursing).
  • Clinical and/or research experience in Cardiology, Surgery, Hematology, Anesthesiology, Nephrology, or Internal Medicine.
  • 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry locally, regionally, or globally.
  • 3 years of experience as an MSL or in a Field Medical role.
