Requirements

Medical expertise in sepsis management, particularly for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit
Ability to provide leadership in Medical Affairs for a new business area (Sepsis Management) within the USA
Experience in scientific engagement with USA thought leaders (KOLs/SMEs) and professional organizations
Capability to develop and implement Medical Affairs vision, strategy, and action plan aligned with business unit strategies
Accountability for collaboration with cross-functional teams including Clinical Research, R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, Quality, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Global Patient Safety
Support for regulatory agency interactions, reimbursement activities, and post-market safety issues
Ensure implementation of global policies and standards with high standards of practice, ethics, scholarship, and knowledge
Membership in Worldwide Medical Extended Leadership team and USA business leadership team

Responsibilities

Provide scientific knowledge and expertise to support the development of innovation in therapies and products in Sepsis Management
Create a Medical Affairs strategy for Sepsis Management that aligns with and supports USA business unit strategy, and ensure effective implementation and execution
Develop medical and scientific relationships with USA KOLs/SMEs and support advisory boards to gain insight and strategic direction
Work with relevant healthcare professional organizations and support evidence-based guideline generation
Provide medical leadership in therapy and product education by creating and providing educational and training materials for internal and external use
Accountable for the development and execution of evidence generation strategy and publication strategy, including HEOR
Ensure high-quality medical and clinical support for the USA Acute business unit through individual activities and team expansion
Represent patient and healthcare provider perspectives in product strategies, development, and innovation
Collaborate with Clinical Research and Strategy and Delivery teams for excellence in clinical trial work for Sepsis Management products and solutions
Support interactions with regulatory agencies and provide medical support for reimbursement activities
Work with Global Patient Safety on relevant post-market safety issues
