Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems; ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
  • Experience with laboratory test automation and instrumentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with vehicle instrumentation and embedded controllers
  • Familiarity with CAN/LIN serial communication protocols

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute testing of 12V and 48V batteries, low-voltage motors, and related technologies to support validation and new product development
  • Install, calibrate, and verify vehicle and bench instrumentation, including sensors, data acquisition systems (DAQ), and embedded controllers
  • Perform electrical integration tasks such as wiring, harness routing, sensor installation, and signal verification for test systems
  • Operate programmable power supplies, electronic loads, and motor controllers for controlled evaluation and data collection
  • Conduct motor and battery performance and durability testing, including teardown and failure mode documentation
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electronic systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition tools
  • Design and fabricate specialized test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation to support experimental programs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, execute, and refine diagnostic and validation procedures
  • Analyze test results, generate reports with supporting visuals, and present findings to technical and leadership audiences
  • Maintain organized records of test plans, procedures, and results in designated laboratory systems
  • Ensure all test activities are performed safely and in compliance with GM safety and environmental protocols
  • Support continuous improvement in test methodology, lab organization, and safety practices
