Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 10-18 years' relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry, LNG projects, preferably with EPC experience
  • 7-10 years' experience in a lead position
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with NCEES records (preferred)
  • Experience in structural design for LNG onshore projects
  • Knowledge of ACI, AISC, PIP, OSHA, client safety standards, applicable codes, and industry standards
  • Ability to self-direct work with limited supervision
  • Ability to provide guidance, leadership, and training to less experienced engineers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with project team as discipline representative and coordinate within department
  • Ability to adjust to varying demands of work and manage changes
  • Willingness to travel <25%

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a global team of 15-20 Structural Engineers, Designers, and 3D Modelers
  • Review work of engineers and designers developing engineering and design documents for Piling & Foundation and Module & Stick Built Steel Pipe Racks/Structures
  • Review, monitor, and ensure compliance with design standards, specifications, local codes, and regulations
  • Regularly review vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met
  • Develop and lead improvements in design to lower costs
  • Consider multiple solutions and make decisions based on data analysis
  • Manage several different assignments simultaneously
  • Assist or review cost estimates and quantity take-offs for projects, proposals, forecasts, and change-orders
  • Provide technical guidance to contractors/vendors
