Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in security operations
  • Expertise in monitoring and responding to security threats across cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) and on-premises environments
  • Proficiency with advanced SIEM/XDR tools, AI-driven analytics, and SOAR for incident triage and workflows
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, threat intelligence, attack vector analysis, and remediation
  • Experience in implementing security controls, including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, and Zero Trust principles
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD workflows, and collaboration with IT, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams
  • Understanding of governance and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2)
  • Proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement, research on cybersecurity trends, and piloting new technologies
  • Ability to reside within reasonable commuting distance of Denver for hybrid work (on-site at least three days per week)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security events across on-premises and multi-cloud environments using SIEM/XDR tools and AI-driven analytics to correlate alerts and reduce false positives
  • Triage, investigate, escalate security incidents using automated workflows (SOAR), coordinate response efforts with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams, assist in root cause analysis, and update incident response playbooks
  • Assess and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-prem assets, prioritize threats using threat intelligence and AI-based scoring, conduct attack vector analysis, support containment, and perform periodic attack simulations and phishing tests
  • Implement security controls across hybrid environments, including cloud-specific configurations, enforce IAM policies, network segmentation, encryption standards, align with Zero Trust, and document changes for audits
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams, and participate in DevSecOps to embed security into CI/CD workflows and deployments
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and related frameworks through evidence collection, self-assessments, remediation of gaps, and policy updates
  • Stay current on cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and new technologies, evaluate and pilot innovative solutions (e.g., AI-based threat detection), and recommend enhancements to security operations
