The Opportunity

Flock Safety is seeking an Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team. Our team comprises results-driven, detail-oriented individuals who blend a strong work ethic with critical thinking to deliver exceptional product installations that delight our customers. As the face of our company in the field, our technicians engage directly with a diverse range of customers. This role is pivotal to our business's success.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Install poles of varying lengths according to specific installation guidelines, which includes digging holes a minimum of 8” x 36”.
  • Mount solar panels onto poles and attach external batteries to the solar panels.
  • Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles, ensuring optimal angles for desired footage capture.
  • Work on both public and private roads, often operating equipment at heights of 10-12 feet.
  • Regularly utilize bucket trucks and/or ladders to work on equipment up to 30 feet high.
  • Perform minor repairs on underground irrigation or private wiring.
  • Adhere to a daily schedule by arriving prepared and completing tasks within reasonable timeframes.
  • Submit installation photos via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including inventory management, reporting, ongoing training, and receiving product shipments.
  • Conduct all work in a safe and professional manner.
  • Meet with customers to discuss installation options and conduct site surveys.
  • Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify correct installation locations for Flock devices.

The Skillset:

  • This role requires frequent and continuous physical activity, including bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and the ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prior experience in field work is advantageous, such as construction, security systems installation, or low-voltage wiring.
  • Prior experience or a willingness to be trained to operate and drive a bucket truck is required.
  • Comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
  • Prior experience operating a tow-behind compressor, stand-on skid steer (Toro Dingo), or ride-on skid steer (Bobcat) is a plus (training will be provided).
  • Must be comfortable working on and around ladders and at heights.
  • Possesses handyman-like skills, whether acquired personally or professionally.
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve while performing hands-on tasks.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
