Candidates must be comfortable working on and around ladders and heights, possess handyman-like experience, and have the ability to think on their feet. Prior field work experience in construction, security systems, or low voltage wiring is a plus, as is prior knowledge or willingness to be trained to operate and drive a bucket truck. Familiarity with operating a work van, pickup truck, or towing a trailer is necessary, and prior use of a tow-behind compressor or skid steer is beneficial. The role requires frequent bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs.
Technicians will install poles by digging holes, mounting solar panels and external batteries, and affixing cameras with PTZ technology. They will work on public and private roads, often at heights of 10-12 feet, using bucket trucks and ladders up to 30 feet high. Responsibilities include repairing minor breaks in underground wiring, adhering to daily schedules, and providing installation pictures via the Flock field app. Technicians will also perform administrative tasks like inventory management and reporting, continue training, receive product shipments, and work in a safe and professional manner. They will meet with customers to discuss installation options, perform site surveys, and interpret traffic control plans to identify proper installation locations.
License plate reader cameras for crime prevention
Flock Safety provides a system aimed at enhancing public safety through crime prevention while ensuring privacy and reducing bias. The main product is a network of license plate reader cameras that capture essential vehicle information, which helps in solving crimes. These cameras utilize machine learning technology to ensure that the data collected is objective and ethically used. Flock Safety serves a variety of clients, including neighborhoods, businesses, and law enforcement agencies in over 1,000 cities. The company operates on a subscription model, where clients pay for the installation, maintenance, and access to data and analytics. This approach not only generates a steady revenue stream but also allows clients to benefit from ongoing updates and support. Flock Safety's goal is to create safer communities by providing effective crime prevention tools that respect individual privacy and foster trust between the public and law enforcement.
