Requirements

  • Degree or appropriate level of industry and technical experience
  • Experience of risk analysis, recording and evaluation
  • Commercial and financial awareness, including knowledge of current trends to identify emerging and changing risks
  • Excellent knowledge of the Aviva Group Risk Framework
  • Good knowledge of the Distribution business
  • Good knowledge of risk management techniques and developments

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the risk and governance framework across Distribution
  • Provide expert support and challenge on Governance, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Financial Crime matters
  • Oversee Aviva Investors’ UK Fund distribution arrangements (approximately 25% of the role), ensuring third-party partners comply with regulatory requirements and Aviva’s business standards
  • Lead Risk Owner Meetings, deep dives, and support key business projects
  • Oversee supplier governance activities, including strategy, operational oversight, and participation in the AI Supplier Forum
  • Act as deputy for the Head of Distribution Risk & Governance when required
  • Support the embedding of ORCM and promote a strong governance culture
  • Manage relationships with Audit, Risk, Compliance, and AAF teams
  • Own and maintain relevant policies
  • Chair committees
  • Lead on designated compliance requirements
  • Provide day-to-day advice, training, and challenge to the Distribution Senior Leadership Team on all governance-related matters
