Employment Type: Full time

The individual Dealer Auditor reviews the administration of General Motors policies and procedures as provided in the Dealer Sales and Service Agreement. This review may include dealership practices relative to warranty claims and policy claims. These claims must comply with specific rules and policies.

The Dealer Auditor completes audits onsite at a dealership location and electronically from their home office.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Determining the compliance of claims with the rules and policies
  • Constructing a concise, accurate, and consistent audit report
  • Presenting the audit findings to the Dealer, their personnel, and GM field personnel
  • Presenting best practices and acting as a trusted advisor to the dealer and GM SSA/CCAR
  • Maintaining cordial, fair, and consistent relations with the Dealer, their personnel, and GM field personnel, adhering to professional auditing standards.
  • Periodically directing a staff of peers when large audits are encountered.
  • Performing all duties in a professional, courteous manner, creating the least amount of disruption and confrontation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Years of Experience in Warranty Specialty
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in wholesale dealer direct contact or dealership operations
  • Ability to travel in the United States and protectorates by air or vehicle approximately 30 weeks a year
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • A questioning, creative, inquisitive attitude
  • Detailed knowledge of Dealership operations and GM Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of the various Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
  • In-depth familiarity with Windows equipped laptop operations including scanning, remote printer operation, data manipulation, and data transfer through the internet
  • Strong computer skills in MS Excel including Vlookup and Pivot Tables
  • The ability to deal with inconsistency and adversity
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • High-level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to work on more than one audit or project simultaneously
  • A strict focus on integrity based on solid ethics and values

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wholesale field experience as a District Sales Manager, District Service Manager, Field Warranty Manager, or Warranty Support Center
  • Previous Retail Dealer Fixed Operation experience

Travel

  • 75% - 100%

Location

  • This role is based remotely.
  • If you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford, or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $85,100 - $135,900
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
