Requirements
- Journeyman card or completion of a formal apprentice program or equivalent years of education/experience
- Certification or ability to obtain certification in ASME Code IX weld tests on ferrous and nonferrous metals
- Ability to perform critical X-ray welds in field or shop on carbon steel and alloys using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and GMAC/FCAW processes
- Ability to read, layout, and fabricate from blueprints
- Ability to create sketches, measure, and fabricate replacement pipelines
- Ability to fabricate and install threaded piping, PVC/CPVC piping, and structural steel
- Ability to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Successful completion of background screening, motor vehicle record screening, drug testing, and pre-employment physical
Responsibilities
- Perform fitting and welding tasks, including critical X-ray welds on various metals and alloys using specified processes
- Read, layout, and fabricate from blueprints
- Create sketches, measure, and fabricate replacement pipelines
- Fabricate and install threaded piping, PVC/CPVC piping, and structural steel
