Candidates should possess a University Degree and preferably 2-3 years of experience in finance or risk assessment, with a preference for experience in financial institution audits, business consulting, legal, securities placement, or corporate finance services. General knowledge of General Insurance (GI) product and market is preferred, and strong English and Chinese language skills are required.
The Financial Lines Underwriter will be responsible for understanding and summarizing the risk of commercial clients, particularly financial institutions, while maintaining underwriting disciplines. They will identify “first sign trends” in business submissions, communicate frequently with their manager to identify market trends and risk profiles, and manage the profitability of the portfolio. Additionally, they will assist the manager with underwriting requirements for new products and enhancements, maintain contact with peers within the industry, and provide support to the Manager with regards to risk analysis and policy development.
