Requirements

  • Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., or advanced degree in a HCI or similar program
  • Good academic standing
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026
  • At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
  • Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
  • Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox
  • Knowledge of common front end frameworks such as React, Material UI, Vue.js
  • Experience building products with AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Design patterns within Zoox UI, the design system used for Zoox's operations and internal tools
  • Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to understand user needs and business requirements
  • Participate in user research, usability testing, design review, and other design validation activities
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design system and processes
  • Present design solutions and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
  • Document guidelines and details of the new patterns for design team and other audiences
