Requirements

Candidates must have 3+ years of product design experience with a focus on design systems in product-led environments, demonstrating strong visual design skills including layout, hierarchy, and interaction. Technical fluency in Figma, including expertise in variants, style management, variables, design tokens, and semantic structure, is essential. Experience supporting web-based design systems and familiarity with Storybook for design-code consistency are also required. Excellent communication skills for thoughtful collaboration and documentation, along with comfort in fast-paced, iterative, and ambiguous environments, are necessary. A portfolio showcasing successfully released libraries with system-wide thinking and in-depth UX design skills is mandatory.

Responsibilities

The Design System Contractor will contribute to extending the Phi design system, fostering cross-team collaboration and adoption. They will design new components and enhance existing ones within Figma libraries, and work closely with Design System Design and Engineering Leads to align design and code across Figma and Storybook. Responsibilities include defining and documenting reusable components and patterns, and exploring how AI tooling can optimize system documentation workflows and efficiency.
