This is a part-time, 6-month paid position with The Orchard where you’ll act as an advocate for artists distributed by The Orchard. You’ll promote 3-6 artists per month, along with one-off promotions, within your college town and on campus using digital and in-person marketing strategies. You’ll be a tastemaker in your market by collaborating with local businesses, record stores, DJs, promoters, and campus organizations. Responsibilities include hosting listening events, organizing campus activations, and creating engaging social media content to support the artists. The role focuses on promoting new releases and tour support across various genres.

Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate Student currently enrolled in a 4-year university in Atlanta with a minimum of 2 years remaining.
  • Availability: 20 hours per week.
  • Location: Must reside within 30 minutes of Atlanta, GA.
  • Communication Skills: Well-written, well-spoken, and an excellent communicator.
  • Social Media Proficiency: Strong understanding of social media marketing, current trends, and an active presence on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Accountability: Ability to manage own hours and be accountable for assigned work.

Responsibilities

  • Artist Advocacy: Promote 3-6 artists per month and one-off promotions.
  • Relationship Building: Liaise with and build relationships with influencers (college radio stations, DJs, student organizations, college newspaper, local sites).
  • Social Media Management: Maintain a local social media presence promoting artists, utilizing supplied assets and creating original content.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Implement in-person marketing at record stores, lifestyle shops, and on campus.
  • Research & Outreach: Research appropriate online sites, forums, and networks for the target demographic (18-24yr olds).
  • Event Attendance: Research and attend local and campus events to facilitate artist promotion.
  • Event Support: Attend artists’ shows to hand out promotional materials and gather fan feedback.
  • Reporting: Submit detailed reports on marketing successes and initiatives.
