Requirements

Candidates should possess experience in both inpatient and outpatient coding, along with a preferred certification in Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Experience in developing training materials for coding teams is also required. Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes is essential.

Responsibilities

The Coding Auditor Educator will be responsible for hospital coding quality and standards development, performing internal and external audits, and providing education and training to the hospital coders. They will also work with other hospital departments to resolve coding issues, develop and implement a compliance plan, and participate in system administration maintenance duties for coding and abstracting software, as well as providing training and education for newly hired coders.
