Candidates should possess 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably with strong backend development experience utilizing languages such as Go or Rust. They must have hands-on experience with basic cryptographic primitives like digital signatures, key exchange, and encryption, alongside a foundational understanding of distributed systems and consensus algorithms like Raft or PBFT. Furthermore, experience with existing blockchain system internals is welcomed, but not required.
The Blockchain Protocol Engineer will be involved in development activities including proposing architectural decisions, participating in designs, conducting design reviews, performing code reviews, and implementing solutions. They will identify and resolve complex problems within the blockchain protocol, collaborate with operations and infrastructure to build scalable backend services, manage documentation of code and functionalities, and work closely with DevOps and ecosystem engineers to enhance the technology stack. The role also entails managing documentation, working with stakeholders to achieve goals, and embracing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
