Requirements

  • Current license to practice law
  • Minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice and actionable recommendations that align with business objectives and mitigate risk
  • Lead and manage Commercial litigation, including coordination with outside counsel, internal stakeholders, and budgets to achieve favorable outcomes
  • Apply knowledge of one or more legal specialties with sound business acumen and knowledge of business goals and objectives as they relate to the legal matter
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate legal projects
  • Contribute to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department using professional legal concepts and principles
  • Provide instructions to junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management
  • Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors
  • Serve as a resource for other attorneys, paralegals, and business clients, instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues
  • Assess and mitigate risk
  • Report to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized
