Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or healthcare; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PharmD, MD, PhD) strongly preferred
  • 7–10 years’ experience in Medical Affairs

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the Canadian Medical Education (MedEd) strategy, aligned with global and affiliate priorities
  • Anticipate emerging educational needs by engaging with HCPs, medical societies, policy makers, and payers
  • Integrate innovative learning models (digital, hybrid, experiential) to increase reach, impact, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of the national MedEd portfolio across therapeutic areas
  • Ensure timely, compliant, and impactful execution of programs, aligned to scientific priorities and unmet medical needs
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure educational effectiveness, HCP engagement, and downstream impact on patient care
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders (societies, hospitals, academic centers, accreditation bodies, IMC, and Health Canada policy influencers)
  • Represent the company in external forums, shaping policy and advancing standards in continuing health education
  • Partner with external experts, thought leaders, and technology providers to co-create cutting-edge educational offerings
  • Partner with Business Units, Medical Affairs, and Global MedEd teams to ensure alignment and resource allocation
  • Actively contribute to affiliate leadership discussions, providing input into strategy, lifecycle management, and capability building
  • Drive shared learning and synergies across therapeutic areas and regional/global networks
  • Lead, mentor, and directly manage a team of medical education professionals, with responsibility for their performance, development, and succession planning
  • Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent to strengthen functional expertise and ensure long-term organizational capability
  • Oversee financial stewardship of a multi-million-dollar budget, ensuring transparent allocation and ROI
  • Ensure programs comply with industry codes (IMC, CME guidelines, legal/E&C;) and align with best practices in adult learning
  • Optimize processes, tools, and frameworks to enable scalability, efficiency, and knowledge sharing
