Requirements

Candidates should have strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in distributed systems, and experience building production backend systems. Experience handling asynchronous workflows and building resilient services is essential, along with a genuine enthusiasm for AI technology and its practical applications. A track record of shipping customer-facing features is also required. Experience working with LLMs in production environments, a background in data processing or ETL systems, familiarity with AI model deployment and optimization, experience with streaming architectures, and open source contributions to AI/ML tools are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

The AI Engineer will own critical parts of the AI-powered data platform, designing and implementing robust backend services that integrate with various AI models for data understanding and transformation. They will build fault-tolerant systems for handling high latency and variance in large language models, create streaming architectures for real-time AI processing, and develop evaluation frameworks to measure and improve AI features' accuracy and reliability. The role involves working closely with the product team to prototype and ship new AI capabilities, helping to establish best practices for AI development, and writing traditional software features and fixing bugs.
