Role Summary

The Account Executive (SMB) is responsible for acquiring new business across South Africa and the broader African market. This role requires a blend of technical understanding and strategic selling, often attracting candidates with payroll consulting backgrounds. Account Executives are expected to close 15+ net new logos per month at a 50% conversion rate, directly contributing to the company's growth targets in the SMB sector.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Sales Ownership: Manage the entire sales process from qualification to closing, consistently achieving monthly targets.
  • Solution Selling with Payroll Expertise: Utilize in-depth payroll and industry knowledge to position value-driven solutions and outperform competitors.
  • Client Relationship Building: Establish trust and credibility with key stakeholders to ensure long-term relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • Implementation Support & Project Handover: Provide clear and detailed handovers to the implementation team for a smooth client transition.
  • Market Insight & Feedback Loop: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities, providing feedback to marketing and product teams to refine positioning and feature development.
  • CRM Discipline & Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records and submit timely reports on pipeline health, lead progression, and closed deals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or a related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in sales or payroll consulting.
  • Proven track record of high performance in SMB sales, specifically achieving 15+ logos per month with a 50% conversion rate.
  • Strong consultative selling and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.
