Job Description

About the Opportunity

Join our Central Technology Team as a Software Engineering Lead anywhere in New Zealand to make a real impact daily. Every line of code, interface design, and conversation is an opportunity to enrich our customers' experiences. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will lead a C# team responsible for building and maintaining Xplor’s reconciliation platforms. This platform is a crucial part of our global, full-stack payment processing platform, supporting integrators, partners, and merchants. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, collaborating with Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering, and other teams to deliver and support functionality across our payment platform.

Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code based on standards and best practices.
  • Refactor existing code, write unit tests, and conduct code reviews for team members.
  • Contribute to performance, diagnostic, and troubleshooting analysis of software.
  • Create and maintain documentation for team services.
  • Estimate, plan, and implement new features in collaboration with product and design teams.

Leadership:

  • Oversee a team of 5-6 software developers and 2-3 QA engineers.
  • Collaborate with team members across different time zones (New Zealand & India) and adapt to flexible working hours as needed.
  • Work with other development teams globally to build a unified, full-stack payment processing platform.
  • Provide people leadership, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Manage the on-call rotation for your team, ensuring fairness, effectiveness, and sustainability.
  • Manage a flexible work schedule to accommodate meetings that may occur outside normal business hours, while prioritizing a healthy work-life balance.

You can work from home 100% from anywhere in New Zealand, provided you have full working rights.
