The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and curious Software Engineer with foundational knowledge of the Rust programming language to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop systems facilitating real-time communication between drones, docking stations, aerial traffic awareness tools, and ground control station (GCS) platforms. Your contributions will be crucial for enabling autonomous operations in complex, dynamic environments.

As part of our engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience with modern Rust-based systems, receive mentorship from senior engineers, and work cross-functionally with product, hardware, and operations teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional eager to solve real-world challenges in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) industry.

Requirements

  • Rust Experience: 1+ year of hands-on Rust experience (including personal, open source, or academic projects).
  • Engineering Experience: 2+ years of cumulative software and/or systems engineering experience.
  • Development Environment: Basic proficiency in Linux-based development environments.
  • Learning Aptitude: Willingness to learn and work with real-time communication systems and network protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Software Design: Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Exposure to or interest in UAS or GCS platforms.
  • Exposure with WebRTC and related technologies (RTMP, RTCP, etc.).
  • Exposure with other systems languages, such as C and C++.
  • Exposure with LTE radios and systems.
  • Exposure writing code for embedded environments.
