Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, and have a good grasp of C++, JavaScript, and/or Rust, along with some knowledge of HTML and/or CSS. Demonstrated motivation to learn new tools and techniques for improving existing software is also required, as is experience with multi-threaded systems, performance analysis, and optimization.
The Software Engineer will improve existing Firefox features, work with multi-disciplinary teams to implement entirely new features, analyze performance problems in Firefox, synthesize bug reports into actionable tasks, ensure Firefox aligns with relevant standards, and increase the quality of data collection to enable better decisions.
