Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. A current LGSW Maryland State License is required, with LCSW-C preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in providing direct social work services to children, youth, and families is also necessary.
The Social Worker will provide emergency assessments of students and offer individual, family, and group therapy using various therapeutic modalities. They will serve as a professional resource for school staff, complete admission service needs assessments, and participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The role includes evaluating progress towards goals, adhering to laws involving child abuse/neglect, developing intervention strategies, consulting with classroom teachers, and providing effective case management.
