Responsibilities

• Drive technical innovation and build scalable, maintainable, and flexible solutions.
• Lead technical teams through the implementation of large projects.
• Architect and design systems for our various applications.
• Autonomously deliver ongoing business impact across a team, product capability, or technical system.
• Assess Arkestro’s business needs, projects, platforms, and technologies to shape technical direction.
• Educate and mentor other developers.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Staff Tech Leads to estimate and commit to work.
• Implement best practices, methodologies, and tools to optimize the development process and increase efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior leadership, to provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.

Technologies and Tools

• Frontend: React, TypeScript, AntD, Jest + React Testing Library
• Backend: Ruby, Rails, Node, Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq Pro, RSpec
• Fundamentals: Shell, SQL, config file and environment configuration
• Workflow and Deployment: Github, AWS, DataDog, Jira, Confluence, Sentry, Code Climate, Pagerduty, Slack, Fellow

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years building customer-facing applications professionally in collaboration with Product Management, UX, and Data.
• 10+ years of Rails/Ruby experience.
• 6+ years of React, JavaScript/TypeScript, NextJS, CSS, and Figma experience.
• 6+ years of architecting Full Stack Applications.
• 5+ years of AWS and/or Kubernetes with Istio experience.
• 5+ years of leading technical teams.
• Experience working in fast-moving environments with on-call rotations and documented SLAs, SLOs, RPOs, and RTOs.

Bonus Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python experience.
• Experience in Series B and above startups.
• Experience with AI development tools.
