PayPay - Merchant Strategy Team - Points Service Planning & Promotion

Position Overview

PayPay is seeking a motivated individual to join the Merchant Strategy Division as a planning member for the PayPay Points service. This role involves the planning and promotion of PayPay's points services for merchants, as well as the launch of new services. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of service planning, from market analysis and concept development to defining system development requirements and operational design, including project management.

About the Merchant Strategy Division

The Merchant Strategy Division is a crucial pillar of PayPay, connecting users with merchants. Our services, such as coupons and stamp cards, are B2B2C offerings that drive user engagement and merchant sales. This department is responsible for the overall business development and strategic planning of these services.

About the Points Service Department

PayPay Points are utilized by various companies to promote the sales of their products and services, encourage membership registration, and more. This position is within the service responsibility department for offering PayPay Points to external companies. Responsibilities include service strategy planning, enhancing existing services, planning new services, and expanding sales. While currently a lean team, we collaborate closely with the development and sales departments to address challenges and drive projects forward.

Background for Recruitment

Our mission is to deliver value, such as benefits and convenience, to users by providing services to PayPay merchants nationwide, including major domestic clients, thereby making the lives of both merchants and users more convenient and enriched. Our role involves the continuous growth of existing services and the planning and development of new ones. As our service lineup expands, we are increasing our headcount to strengthen existing services and launch new ones. We are looking for individuals who can eventually demonstrate leadership within this growing organization.

PayPay Points leverage our vast user base and widespread acceptance at various payment locations, offering companies diverse applications for promotion and registration. The volume of points issued continues to grow significantly. To accelerate this growth, we need to continuously improve services and expand new features. This position plays a vital role in achieving these goals at PayPay.

  • Planning and promoting business plans for PayPay's merchant services, specifically focusing on PayPay Points.
  • Planning new features and organizing system development requirements.
  • Project management (PMO).

Essential Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning, launching, or growing businesses or services (involving system development).
  • Experience in project management, including negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in creating presentations using PowerPoint/Google Slides.
  • Proficiency in creating simulations and graphs using Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Skill in creating requirement specifications or definition documents.
  • Negotiation skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Experience and Skills

Desired Experience

  • Practical experience in O2O/OMO related businesses or services.
  • Practical experience in prepaid payment instruments (e.g., electronic money) or payment networks.
  • Experience in formulating pricing plans for internet services.
  • Experience in creating materials and presenting to management/decision-makers for approval.

Desired Skills

  • Business-level English proficiency.
  • Skills in developing business budgets (sales and costs).
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations such as the Premiums and Representations Act and the Payment Services Act.

Benefits and Conditions

  • Employment Type: Full-time Employee
  • Work Location: Hybrid Workstyle (Office, Home, or Satellite Office for remote work). Attendance may be required based on organizational rules and work instructions.
  • Work Hours: Super Flex Time (No core hours). Principles: 9:00 AM - 5:45 PM (7 hours 45 minutes work + 1 hour break).
  • Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays, Year-end and New Year holidays, and company-designated days.
  • Leave:
    • Annual Paid Leave: 14 days in the first year (prorated based on start month, usable from start date).
    • Personal Leave: 5 days granted annually (3 or 5 days in the first year depending on start month). This is a unique PayPay paid leave system for personal/family/pet illnesses, injuries, medical appointments, etc.
  • Salary: Annual salary system (includes a certain amount of fixed overtime pay). Determined by company regulations based on experience, skills, performance, and contributions. Reviewed annually. Special one-time payments (incentives) may be provided based on company performance and individual contributions (once a year). Overtime and late-night work allowances are provided. (Note: A portion of salary can be received via PayPay account, supporting digital salary payments).
