Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently, be attentive to detail, and meet deadlines. They should also have demonstrated experience making graphics and designing for the Web, including experience with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, D3) and designing responsively (from big desktop screens to mobile devices). Familiarity with digital preservation, archiving, and data management is required.
The intern will design and develop publication-quality graphics and web presentations on a variety of time scales, research and analyze data for reporting, collaborate with RAD's archivists and technologists to develop NPR’s first web archive, conduct research to help RAD determine best practices around preserving interactives, evaluate materials, apply metadata, develop training materials for users, and present findings and recommendations to the RAD team and stakeholders.
