Position Overview

Join an early-stage startup focused on unlocking access to credit. We are seeking our first dedicated Growth Marketing hire to join our one-person marketing team. The ideal candidate will operate with the effectiveness of an entire marketing organization, enabling us to accelerate business growth disproportionately to headcount.

About Kovo

Kovo is transforming financial access for underserved Americans, believing everyone deserves the opportunity for economic independence. Our innovative financial empowerment platform creates pathways to credit and financial inclusion, empowering individuals traditionally excluded from financial opportunities.

We have achieved significant growth, scaling revenue 10x and improving efficiency 5x over the past two years. Our revenue per employee exceeds the 90th percentile benchmark for startups. As a venture-scale company that has achieved positive free cash flow early in its lifecycle, we offer less dilution for employees as we accelerate momentum without dependence on external funding for survival. We are seeking exceptional individuals eager to help us scale another 10x and beyond.

Kovo is backed by Inspired Capital and Homebrew, along with founders and leaders from prominent companies such as Plaid, Cash App, Affirm, NerdWallet, Ramp, Alloy, MoonPay, Uber, Etsy, LendingClub, Column, Carbon Health, and Grindr.

  • Motivated to leverage AI, automation, and data tools in your day-to-day work to push the boundaries of individual productivity.
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, handles shifting priorities fluidly, and works effectively with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, data science, and design.
  • Proficient with SQL.

Responsibilities

As our first Growth Marketing hire, you will be expected to contribute across a broad range of activities:

  • Efficiently scale customer acquisition efforts.
  • Define, monitor, and grow key performance indicators (KPIs) for user acquisition, customer activation, and customer lifetime value.
  • Generate, source, edit, optimize, experiment with, and deploy creative assets to scale acquisition.

  • Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and data teams to enhance onboarding funnel performance.

  • Directly impact millions of underserved individuals' ability to access credit.
  • Work with minimal bureaucracy, significant ownership, and have a broad impact.
  • We foster an environment where you are trusted to do your best work without micromanagement.

Why You Might Not Be Excited About Us

  • We are a small team, and roles and responsibilities evolve quickly.
  • Priorities and projects may shift as we learn and adapt.
