Job Description: Windows OS Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time Location Type: Hybrid Salary: $168,000 - $322,000 USD (Base salary determined by location, experience, and pay equity)

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Windows OS Engineer to join our Client Technology Services team. This role is crucial in empowering engineers worldwide who develop state-of-the-art products in AI, Automotive, VR, Gaming, Deep Learning, and High-Performance Computing. You will contribute to improving our next-generation client platform and shape the future of work by enhancing our Windows fleet. The ideal candidate thrives on innovation and is passionate about creating world-class services and transforming the user experience through software engineering and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a world-class user experience on our Windows fleet.
  • Design frictionless services for delivering updates, drivers, notifications, reboots, maintenance windows, etc.
  • Collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers focused on client excellence in the Windows space.
  • Contribute to improving our Windows client strategy.
  • Regularly interact with business units across NVIDIA and manage end-user expectations.
  • Engage in cross-functional partnerships and development with a diverse landscape of teams.
  • Support advanced issues on tickets within your domain.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the immediate organization.

Requirements

  • BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of development experience directly in managing Windows devices at scale.
  • Extensive experience with Client Platform Engineering (CPE) development tools such as PowerShell, Chocolatey, Chef, and/or osquery.
  • Deep understanding of corporate engineering and its unique challenges compared to consumer-facing engineering.
  • Proven track record of developing, driving, and delivering software products.
  • Deep knowledge of the Windows operating system and its associated tools.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Genuine passion for being obsessed with the end-user experience.
  • Experience in product development and product management.
  • Strong software optimization and debugging knowledge.
  • Experience with Mac and Linux CPE is a plus.
