Product Design Lead

Position Overview

Anzen is seeking a talented Product Design Lead to shape the user experience at the core of our AI-powered insurance platform. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, AI-centric workflows that empower insurance brokers to operate faster and smarter, directly impacting hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance premiums. This role offers the opportunity to own the end-to-end design process, influence product strategy, and contribute to building a design-driven culture. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and early customers to bring simplicity and clarity to a complex industry.

About Anzen

Anzen was founded by former insurance and tech executives with a proven track record of scaling three unicorns. Backed by leading investors like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Madrona, Anzen is on a mission to transform how companies choose and understand commercial insurance using AI. We are building the world's first AI insurance platform for brokers, revolutionizing how they manage submissions, select markets, and generate quotes for their clients.

What You'll Do

  • Design and Prototype: Create end-to-end user experiences for complex, data-heavy workflows.
  • Translate AI/ML: Transform abstract AI/ML capabilities into intuitive tools that brokers can trust and understand.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Product and Engineering to ship features that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead Research: Spearhead research initiatives, including interviews, usability tests, and feedback sessions, to ensure user insights drive every decision.
  • Define Design Systems: Establish design principles and patterns that will scale effectively as the product and team grow.
  • Shape Product Strategy: Partner with leadership on new product areas, influencing early strategic bets and guiding the product toward market fit.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience designing SaaS or enterprise platforms that manage large datasets.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Proven ability to own the entire design process, from concept and execution to iteration.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with Figma and modern design systems.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, with a willingness to wear multiple hats.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively advocate for design decisions in cross-functional settings.
  • Bonus: Prior experience as a founding designer or an early design hire at a startup, with a track record of building design functions from the ground up.

Why Join Us?

  • Real Impact: Directly shape the core experience of an industry-changing platform.
  • Top-Tier Team: Collaborate with experienced builders and a supportive, ambitious team that has scaled multiple unicorns and worked at world-class tech companies.
  • Build from the Ground Up: Set the standard for design quality, influence the product roadmap, and help define the company culture.
